Event Update 9 December 2019:

We would also like to take this opportunity to recognise and acknowledge our local businesses and individuals that have given generous donations. Our Original News Item:
As part of this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Committed to Ending Abuse (CEA) will be holding an event in the Howgate Shopping Centre, Falkirk on Thursday 5th December 2019 between 10am and 3pm. Our stall will be located in the centre of the atrium and will include: information; a tombola and raffle prizes. Generous donations of prizes have been made by local services in Falkirk for which we are very grateful. Look out for further news about the event on our social media pages throughout the 16 Days of Action.
16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10th December, Human Rights Day.
We will be joined on the stall by NHS Gender-based Violence Lead Officers, the Forth Valley based representatives from Police Scotland, Falkirk Housing Office, Social Workers, Education and Health to help raise awareness and to promote partnership working.
Public sector work by these organisations, and hundreds of others like them is exemplary. We and our partners are dedicated to helping the general public to understand the impact of domestic violence on society through blogging, community work, social media and exhibitions.
If you are in or around the Howgate Centre on this day, please feel free to come and support us and find out about what we do.

Please note that although CEA fully support this campaign, our organisation and partner agencies also recognise and are inclusive in supporting males and members of the LGBTQI community who have been affected by domestic abuse.
