CEA Board of Trustees

Our Board of Trustees plays a vital role in guiding and strengthening the work of Committed to Ending Abuse. Bringing together a diverse range of professional backgrounds, skills, and lived perspectives, the Board provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure the organisation continues to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality support.

United by a shared commitment to equality, accountability, and social justice, our Trustees work collaboratively to uphold the organisation’s values and ensure that the voices and experiences of those we support remain at the heart of everything we do. Their collective expertise spans areas including public service, governance, safeguarding, finance, emergency services, and community engagement.

The Board is committed to ensuring that Committed to Ending Abuse remains responsive, inclusive, and forward-thinking—adapting to the evolving needs of individuals, families, and communities affected by abuse.

Louise Day – Chair of the Trustees

Louise Day has been a dedicated member of the Committed to Ending Abuse Board since 2010 and has served as Chair for several years. She brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a longstanding commitment to equality and social justice.

Louise’s professional background includes working within the Home Office’s Domestic Violence Unit, where she contributed to the development of legislation and led research projects as part of a national crime reduction programme. Her work focused on deepening the understanding of domestic abuse and identifying more effective ways to support women and girls, shaping practice and policy at a national level.

Over the years, Louise has played a key role in supporting the growth and development of the organisation. She has been particularly proud to see CEA evolve to ensure inclusive, specialist support for all individuals affected by abuse. Since 2014, this has included strengthening the organisation’s approach to supporting men and members of the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring that services remain responsive, equitable, and accessible.

As Chair, Louise provides strong governance and strategic oversight, supporting the organisation to remain focused on its mission while adapting to the changing needs of the communities it serves. Her leadership reflects both experience and a genuine passion for creating meaningful, lasting change.

Now retired, Louise enjoys a slower pace of life, spending time horse riding, walking her dog, and gardening. Alongside this, she remains deeply committed to advocating for equality and social justice.

Eve McKay – Trustee

Eve McKay is a dedicated Trustee of Committed to Ending Abuse, bringing both professional expertise and a deep personal commitment to safeguarding her community.

Eve’s journey into this field began during her time with the Scottish Prison Service, where she worked closely with perpetrators, victims, and witnesses of domestic abuse. This experience gave her direct insight into the far-reaching and devastating impact of abuse on individuals, families, and wider communities. Recognising how frequently these experiences remain hidden or underreported, Eve developed a strong drive to be part of meaningful change.

Motivated by this, she joined the Board of Committed to Ending Abuse, drawn to the organisation’s inclusive approach to supporting all individuals affected by abuse. She is passionate about contributing to a service that prioritises safety, protection, and empowerment.

Eve now serves as a Firefighter at Falkirk Fire Station, continuing her frontline role in protecting the public. Her work reflects a consistent commitment to safeguarding and supporting those at risk.

As a Trustee, Eve values the depth of knowledge and insight shared within the organisation and is committed to using this learning to strengthen her contribution both within board settings and across her wider professional role.

Outside of her professional life, Eve is highly active and driven. She has a strong passion for fitness, regularly competing in running and weightlifting events, and has a particular interest in boxing. She is also closely connected to the local community through her husband’s involvement with Mandala Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gym in Falkirk, a proud supporter of Committed to Ending Abuse.
